Ebonie MacLeod – Founder
My lifelong passion for horses has been the cornerstone of my career. Since my teenage years, I have immersed myself in various roles within the thoroughbred racing industry, spanning Australia and international markets. These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the sport. Upon returning from overseas, I was recruited into a pivotal role within the veterinary industry, an opportunity that has deepened my dedication to advancing equine health and welfare.
For more than a decade, my roles within the veterinary industry have empowered me to enhance equine welfare and support hardworking equine veterinarians. I have facilitated industry change by spearheading an industry-wide vaccination mandate, collaborating with technology innovators to develop field-support applications for veterinarians, and launching innovative treatments for prevalent equine conditions. My passion for the equine veterinary industry, as well as the wider horse industry, motivates me every day to work harder to deliver solutions that support veterinarians in providing the highest standard of care and ensuring the wellness of horses everywhere.
My experience in the veterinary pharmaceutical sector revealed a reluctance to invest in innovations due to a lack of understanding of the market and the benefits that tailored solutions deliver to equine veterinarians. This realization inspired me to establish Equinnovate, driven by a mission to enhance access for Australian equine veterinarians to innovative products and services.
In addition to my professional endeavours, I am personally involved in the equine industry as a bloodstock consultant, horse owner, licensed stablehand and racehorse owner. This personal engagement gives me a unique perspective on the challenges and nuances faced across all sectors of the industry. My hands-on experiences allow me to better understand the needs of owners, trainers, and veterinarians alike, which further informs my approach to creating meaningful solutions that truly address the demands of this diverse industry.
